Partners in your child's education
At Redwood Science Academy, we do not regard parents as observers of their children's education — we regard them as essential partners in it. The Redwood Parents' Association is the organised heart of that partnership: a dynamic, welcoming and purposeful community that meets regularly, advises with candour and enriches school life for every family who joins it.
From the moment you receive an offer, you become part of the Redwood family. Our Parent Connect programme ensures that no new family arrives at the school gates feeling alone, and that every parent — however busy their schedule — can find a meaningful and enjoyable way to contribute to the community that is nurturing their child. We believe a school is only as strong as the relationships it builds, and those relationships begin with you.
What we do together
Our Parents’ Association operates through four pillars, each led by elected parent volunteers working in close collaboration with the school’s leadership team.
Welcome & Buddy Families
Every incoming family is paired with an established family from the same year group before their first September. Buddy families answer the questions no prospectus can, make introductions at social events and ensure that transition to Redwood always feels like joining a community rather than entering an institution.
Events & Fundraising
From our celebrated annual Summer Fair and Autumn Concert Gala to termly parent social evenings and charity sporting challenges, the PA calendar is lively and genuinely inclusive. Funds raised support the bursary programme, facility enhancements and enrichment activities that benefit every pupil regardless of means.
Advisory Voice
Elected PA representatives sit on the school’s Parents’ Consultative Council, meeting termly with the Principal and governors to discuss strategic matters — from curriculum development and wellbeing provision to the future of campus facilities and the boarding programme. Your views genuinely shape how the school develops.
Community Service
Parents lead and support our outreach partnerships — from mentoring pupils at local state schools to co-ordinating food bank collections, environmental conservation days and cross-community arts projects. Service is a Redwood value, and parents model it alongside our pupils in the most inspiring way.
Upcoming parent events
All Redwood parents are warmly invited to the events below. Booking links are circulated by email two weeks prior to each occasion; contact the PA Secretary for accessibility requirements or further details.
New Families Welcome Breakfast
An informal gathering for all families joining Redwood in September 2026. Meet the PA committee, your buddy family and key pastoral staff over coffee and pastries in the Founders’ Hall. Children are warmly welcome.

College AdvisoryAutumn Concert Gala & Fundraising Dinner
The centrepiece of the PA autumn calendar — an evening of exceptional student performance followed by a three-course dinner. All proceeds support the Redwood Bursary Fund, which last year enabled 14 pupils to attend who could not otherwise have done so.
