Every year, a new generation of Redwood graduates steps beyond our gates carrying outstanding academic results, a deep sense of purpose and the lifelong confidence that comes from having been truly known by their school. Today, our alumni family spans more than 60 countries and virtually every field of human endeavour.
They are engineers and entrepreneurs, artists and activists, scientists and statespeople. What they share — beyond a Redwood education — is the habit of thinking rigorously, acting ethically and facing the world with curiosity and compassion. We are immensely proud of each of them, we follow their progress with genuine interest and we remain their school for life. The moment you graduate from Redwood, you join a network that is always ready to support, challenge and celebrate you.
Redwoodians making their mark
A handful of portraits from a community whose collective achievements we could never fully capture on a single page — but here are six who remind us what a Redwood education makes possible.
Engineering at Imperial
Priya (Class of 2018) read Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London and now leads a renewable-energy research team at a pioneering offshore wind company in Aberdeen — work she traces directly to Redwood's Physics extension programme and the mentorship of a teacher who spotted her potential early.
Founding a Start-up
Tom and Asel (Class of 2016) first collaborated in DP Theory of Knowledge and co-founded an EdTech platform now used by over two million learners across 34 countries. Tom credits Redwood's culture of intellectual risk-taking for the partnership — and the DP's emphasis on interdisciplinary thinking for the platform's design.
The Arts
Lena (Class of 2019), now principal oboist with a major European orchestra, began her musical journey in the Redwood Chamber Ensemble. “The school treated music as academic and artistic at once,” she says. “That dual expectation shaped how I practise, how I teach and how I perform.”
Public Service
After reading PPE at Oxford, Marcus (Class of 2014) joined the United Nations Development Programme and has led humanitarian operations on three continents. He returned to Redwood last autumn to speak to our DP Global Politics students — a visit nobody who attended it will quickly forget.
Scientific Research
Dr Chiara (Class of 2013) completed a DPhil in Structural Biology at Oxford and now holds a Research Fellowship at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. Her Redwood extended essay on protein folding — written in our sixth-form labs — was cited in her first peer-reviewed publication.
International Development
Fatima (Class of 2017) works across East Africa for a global health NGO, designing water and sanitation programmes that have reached 180,000 people. “Redwood gave me a systems-thinking mindset,” she says. “I see the same problem-solving approach in every project I run.”

The Redwood Alumni Association hosts events on four continents each year — from intimate dinners for recent graduates to landmark gatherings celebrating five- and ten-year reunions. Our alumni mentorship programme connects current sixth-form students with graduates who have walked the same corridors and built remarkable careers in fields ranging from medicine and law to film, finance and the third sector.
